Global Engagement Scholars Program

 

 

The UNC Charlotte Global Engagement Scholars Program (GESP) is designed to enhance a student’s global and cultural awareness through a mix of academic and co-curricular activities. Global Gateways Program

Global Gateways Program
Students interested in learning more about different cultures, exploring international issues, engaging with the Charlotte international community, and having fun are encouraged to join the Global Gateways Program. The Global Gateways Program is a residential-based program designed to bring US domestic and international students together to share and learn about the world. The program is application based. Great Decisions

Great Decisions

Great Decisions is a national program of the Foreign Policy Association. The Office of International Programs at UNC Charlotte, along with the World Affairs Council of Charlotte, coordinates a local community lecture series annually. The Charlotte Great Decisions Lecture Series consists of five weekly sessions and is an opportunity for citizens to meet, discuss and learn about some of the issues facing our world. Green and Gold Travelers Society

Green and Gold Travelers SocietyThe UNC Charlotte Green and Gold Travelers Society (GGTS) is a rare and exciting program that makes unique travel opportunities available to prominent friends and benefactors of the UNC Charlotte community. Each year the GGTS organizes a small group trip to an international destination. Each trip includes special activities and interaction with a prominent UNC Charlotte scholar. International Education Week

Cultural Ambassador Program
International Education Week serves as a reminder that college and university campuses play a special part in shaping the awareness of our role in the global village. UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to explore the value of education abroad, the richness that is brought into our classrooms and departments by international students and faculty, and the benefits derived from all international programs on campus. International Festival

International Festival
International Festival (IFEST) is a 40+ year tradition, this festival celebrates the music, dance, and food of UNC Charlotte international students and members of Charlotte's international community. Over 50 countries from around the world are represented and attendance in previous years has been estimated at 20,000. It is located at and around the Student Activities Center (SAC) and admission is free. Visit the International Festival website. International Speaker Series

International Speaker Series
The International Speaker Series at UNC Charlotte brings internationally renowned speakers to the University to address topics ranging from economics to globalization to foreign policy. The program is a joint effort, co-sponsored by the: Office of International Programs; Department of Global Studies; World Affairs Council of Charlotte; and Atkins Library. International Women's Day

  International Women's Day
The purpose of this celebration and these nominations is to acknowledge that our campus community is filled with local women who embody the richness of internationalism and we would like to recognize these individuals for their contributions to UNC Charlotte and the world. This UNC Charlotte celebration includes a reception recognizing individuals involved in international and/or women's issues, historical and cultural information sharing, and special performances. Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society

Phi Beta Delta
Phi Beta Delta has as its purpose the recognition of experience in the areas of international education exchange and/or international scholarship. It also serves as a means for encouraging interdisciplinary interchange and serves as a catalyst for developing a network among faculty, students, and staff involved.
