Fulbright U.S. Scholar Application Procedures
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program application process requires advance planning, as you might expect. Please review the best practices and suggestions below, and contact the Office of International Programs if you would like to consult on any point. Make sure to request that the Fulbright Scholar liaison, Associate Provost Gallegos, be notified in the event that you receive a Fulbright award, in addition to your dean and/or chair.
1. Plan at least one year in advance of intended departure.
2. Meet with your department chair, dean, former UNC Charlotte Fulbrighters, and the Fulbright advisor at UNC Charlotte.
3. Attend a Fulbright information workshop/session (held once a semester) Email us for dates.
4. Consult with your college research officer and your chair to support your application and develop a budget.
5. Submit your proposal to Niner Research for approval.
6. Apply by the relevant Fulbright deadline. Refer to links below for more information.

- September 16, 2024: Application deadline to Fulbright for 2025-2026 award cycle
