UNC Charlotte Fulbright Week: April 13-17, 2026
Charlotte Global is pleased to present Fulbright Week, an opportunity for faculty to learn more about the Fulbright application process, explore the experience of conducting research and/or professional work abroad, and connect with Fulbright alumni on campus.
Fulbright Week will feature the following events:
Monday, April 13:
12pm-1pm: Lunch & Learn in CHHS 207
In this limited capacity meeting, you will meet former Fulbright faculty alumni on their research and experiences during their time abroad.
Speakers: Dr. Mike Putman, Associate Provost of Academic Programs and Space, and Dr. Missy Eppes, Professor, Department of Geography and Earth Sciences
A light lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

Tuesday, April 14:
10am-11am: Fulbright Session Q&A, Hybrid: CHHS 207 or Zoom
Speaker: Joël Gallegos, Associate Provost for Global Affairs and Fulbright Scholar Liaison
Our Fulbright Scholar Liaison will answer questions about award options and provide insights from working with past faculty applicants. Join us to explore how Fulbright can support your international scholarship and engagement.
Wednesday, April 15:
3:30pm-4:30pm: Fulbright Faculty Alumni Panel, Student Union Room 200
This is an open invitation to all interested faculty members to attend an informal discussion with former Fulbright faculty alumni. You will hear about their experience teaching, doing research, establishing professional connections, and/or taking care of family while on Fulbright.
Panelists are: Dr. Christine Haynes, Dr. Ashli Stokes, Dr. Jordan Poler, and Dr. Eric Hoenes Del Pinal




Thursday April 16:
2:00pm-4:00pm, Fulbright U.S.Student Information Session (Drop-ins welcome)
Speaker: Brad Sekulich, Education Abroad Director and Fulbright Program Adviser
Discover how the U.S. Student Fulbright Program can support a year of funded international experience after graduation. Join us to explore program options and key application tips.
2:00pm-3:00pm, Fulbright Scholar Information Session in CHHS 207
During this session hosted by Dr. Julie Taylor, Director of Academic Relations for Fulbright, and Dr. Amirah Nelson, Senior Outreach Officer for the Fulbright Specialist Program at World Learning, participants will learn about application procedures and receive practical tips, with a particular emphasis on the Fulbright Specialist Program.
Friday April 17:
8am-5pm: UNC System Fulbright Scholar Liaison Training. (By Invitation Only)
