Inaugural Fulbright Week: March 25-29, 2024
The Office of International Programs is pleased to announce our inaugural Fulbright Week, where faculty members can learn more about the Fulbright application process, the experience of conducting research and/or professional work abroad, and network with Fulbright alum here on campus.
The programs/events for the Fulbright Week include the following:
- Tuesday March 26, 2pm-3pm: During this webinar hosted by the Institute for International Education (IIE), participants will learn about the application procedures and tips of Fulbright.
- Wednesday March 27 noon-1pm: Lunch & Learn in CHHS 207. In this limited capacity meeting, you will meet former Fulbright faculty alum on their research and experiences during their time abroad.
- Speakers: Mike Putman (Professor and Chair, Department of Reading and Elementary Education), Missy Eppes (Professor, Department of Geography and Earth Sciences)

- Thursday March 28: 3-4pm, Gold Room in Prospector
An open invitation to all interested faculty members to a roundtable of informal discussion of former Fulbright faculty alum. You will hear about their experience teaching, doing research, establishing professional connections, and/or taking care of family while on Fulbright.
Following the round table, please stay for happy hour to continue your conversation
Panelists:
- Friday March 29 10-11am: During the one-hour Zoom meeting, department chairs will learn about the university’s support for faculty Fulbright applications, discuss with peers about strategies to incorporate Fulbright experience in faculty’s promotion and tenure, and increase interest of faculty in Fulbright activities.
